Rachel Anne McAdams
Rachel Anne McAdams was born on November
17, 1978 in London (Ontario, Canada) to Sandra Kay (Gale), who is a nurse along
with Lance Frederick McAdams who is a trucker/furniture moving driver. She is
of English, Welsh, Irish and Scottish descent. Rachel became involved with
acting as a teenager and by 13 was performing in Shakespearean productions at
summer theater camp; she went on to graduate with distinction, earning an
honors BFA degree in theater from York University. After her appearance in
Disney's The Famous Jett Jackson episode (1998) She starred in Slings and
Arrows, a Canadian comedy-drama that chronicles the struggles and triumphs of
the Slings and Arrows Shakespearean theater group. In 2003, she was awarded the
Gemini award. Her role as Regina George, in Mean Girls (2004), instantly became
a top-rated actress on Hollywood's most coveted young actresses. Following the
film, she was cast opposite Ryan Gosling in The Notebook (2004). The Notebook
was a smash at the box-office, and quickly became the leading romantic drama
for the new generation of movie lovers. McAdams had a meeting with Gosling
during filming. They dated until mid-2007. McAdams and Gosling were soon in a
relationship and began to have a relationship. After her role in The Lucky Ones,
a military drama, State of Play, and The Time Traveler's Wife (2009) McAdams
starred alongside Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr. in Guy Ritchie's global
blockbuster Sherlock Holmes. McAdams was the smart producer of Morning Glory
(2010). She also played the materialistic fiancee Owen Wilson in Woody Allen’s
Midnight in Paris (2011). McAdams returned to romantic drama in The Vow (2012),
which she starred opposite Channing Tatum. McAdams appears in Terrence Malick's
To the Wonder (2012) along with Ben Affleck and Noomi Rapacace in Brian De
Palma's thriller Passion (2012).
