Beyonce Giselle Knowles was conceived in
Houston, Texas on September 4, 1981. Tina Knowles Lawson, her mother, designs
their sparkling costumes. Mathew Knowles is Destiny's Child's managing
director. Solange her sister (4 years separated by four years) released her
debut album. She dances with her big sister at DC-3 shows. Beyonce is of
Louisiana Creole & African descent. Whitney Houston discovered her and
her group. Lovefool by The Cardigans is one of her most listened to songs. She
loves a pair of silver-colored work boots. She has written and recorded many of
the group's tunes which include smash hits like "Jumpin Jumpin",
"Bootylicious", "Nasty Girl", "Independent
Women", "Happy Face" and "Apple Pie a la Mode". She is
the lead vocalist for Destiny's Child. The group toured together with Christina
Aguilera as her opening show (2000). The tour was with TLC as their opening
show (1999). Master P was a cat. He attended the High School for the Performing
and Visual Arts in Houston, Texas. Solange's older half-sister as well as Nixon
and Koi Knowles big sister. Star Search (1983): Once appeared. In 2001, she
became the first African American woman to win the ASCAP Pop Songwriter of the
Year Award. She is a huge lover and admirer of Middle Eastern music. Her
biggest success to date is her song "Crazy in Love" (2003). She was a
participant of several awards shows in 2003 which included the Radio Music
Awards (MTV Europe Video Music Awards), Billboard Awards and the Billboard
Awards. She also was a part of a South African AIDS benefit show in November of
2003, which was put on by Bono of U2 to help fight the AIDS epidemic in
sub-Saharan Africa. On February 8, 2004 she took home five Grammy Awards,
including Best Contemporary R&B album for "Dangerously in Love".
She also took home the most awards this year's (2004) performance. Mathew, her
father, is African-American. Tina is of Louisiana Creole origin. Her ancestors
include African as well as French and include ancestors from Louisiana as well
as Canada. Beyonce is also 1/32 Irish origin, and has distant Breton, Spanish,
Indonesian and Chinese origins from her maternal side and also. According to
some sources, she created a stage persona known as "Sasha" to get
over her shyness.
