Will Ferrell
Will Ferrell
rose to fame as a member of 'Saturday Night Live,' before appearing in such
large-screen comedies as 'Elf,' 'Anchorman' and 'Talladega Nights.' In 1967, in
Irvine, California, Will Ferrell started his career in comedy as part of the
improv group based in Los Angeles called the Groundlings. He was an Saturday
Night Live cast member for seven years , and he became a major comedic draw
through off-color successes, including Old School 2003 and Anchorman: The
Legend of Ron Burgundy 2004. Ferrell was also co-founder of the video streaming
website Funny or Die and enjoyed success voice acting in animated films such as
Megamind (2010). John William Ferrell was conceived in Irvine, California on
July 16, 1967. Will Ferrell was the eldest child of Righteous Brothers
keyboardist Lee Ferrell as well as teacher Kay Ferrell. He was according to his
own admission in no way the class clown while he was a University High School
student. The quiet and studious Ferrell made his mark on the field of football
which is where he established a school record for most field goals he scored.
Ferrell was a more laid-back person living in suburban homes and didn't show
the same outlandish or humorous exasperations later on that defined his career.
In an interview with Esquire his mother stated that Ferrell was "very
even-tempered, very easygoing." "You have any memories of those
Matchbox automobiles?" Will be lining up his Matchbox cars on his own and
be utterly content. If you were to ask him, "Do you want to visit
Disneyland today, or put your cars in line?' and he'd have to think about the
idea. Ferrell was not a perfectly straight man however that doesn't mean to say
he wasn't. One of Ferrell's comedy talent was shown each morning in high school
when he disguised himself and announced what was happening on the PA system.
After graduation in 1986 Ferrell was a student at the University of Southern
California at Los Angeles, where he joined Delta Tau, the Delta Tau fraternity
and pursued a degree in sports journalism.
