Emma Watson

Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was the daughter of British parents Jacqueline Luesby (a lawyer) and Chris Watson (a French mother). They moved to Oxfordshire at the age of five years old, and attended the Dragon School. From the age of six, Emma knew that she was going to become an actor and for a long period of years, she was a student at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a part-time theatre school in which she studied singing, dancing and acting. By the time she reached the age of 10, she had appeared and taken the lead in numerous Stagecoach productions as well as school plays. Casting began in 1999 Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone 2001 the film adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling book. Emma was found by her Oxford theatre instructor, who introduced casting agents to Emma. After eight continuous auditions David Heyman informed Emma and Rupert Grint that they were cast as Hermione Granger as well as Harry Potter. The release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's film debut. It was the highest-grossing movie of 2001, breaking records for opening-day sales and opening weekend runs. Critics have praised the film, as well as the performance of its young actors. The Daily Telegraph, a British newspaper widely distributed, praised Emma's performance as "admirable." Emma received the Young Artist Award as Leading Young Actress in the Film Film and was nominated for five prizes. After the release of the first film in the highly successful Harry Potter franchise, Emma became one of the most well-known actresses in the world. In the ten years that followed, she was the part of Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone 2001, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets 2002, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban 2004 and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire 2005. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix 2007 and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince 2009, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 (2010) and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 (2011). Emma has been nominated twice for Critics' Choice Awards from the Broadcast Film Critics Association.
