Britney Jean Spears

Britney Jean Spears was born on December 2, 1981 in McComb, Mississippi & raised in Kentwood, Louisiana. As a youngster, Britney attended dance classes, and she was great at gymnastics, winning many events and such. But, most of all, Britney loved to sing. Britney was eight years old when she tried to be a part of The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989) however her age was a factor to her being disqualified. Then, she was directed to "Ruthless" the off-Broadway production, in which she appeared in the role of the title character for two years. When she was 11 years old she tried again for The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989) and she made the show as a mouseketeer with numerous stars of today (Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez of *NSYNC and Ryan Gosling). In the late 90s, Britney signed with Jive Recording Artist. Britney was a huge hit following her first album, "Baby one more time." "...Baby one more time" in 1999. She also sold 13 million copies (as of July 2001), of her second album "Oops !...I did it Again" which came out in May 2000. Britney was born to Lynne Spears (and Jamie Spears) and is a big sister, Jamie Lynn Spears. Britney was destined to be a star from a young age. Britney loved singing and was inspired by Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. Britney auditioned for The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989-1994) at the age of was eight. But, she was too old to be considered a suitable candidate. Instead, Britney, her mother and baby sister moved to New York where she starred in several TV advertisements and an off-Broadway production, "Ruthless", where she was a student of Natalie Portman. The love for dancing and music took over and, two years after, she auditioned for the role on "Mickey Mouse" again, and this time, won the part with Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake.
