Evan Rachel Wood was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, on September 7, 1987. Her father, Ira David Wood III is a stage actor as well as a writer and director as is her mother, Sara Wood, is an actor and acting coach. Her older brothers include Dana Wood, a musician and Ira David Wood IV who are also actors. Evan and her brothers sometimes appeared in the Theatre In The Park in Raleigh where her father founded and for which the director is executive. After a long audition process, she was five years old when she had the opportunity to screen-test against Kirsten Dunst. In the year 1996, she moved to Los Angeles along with her brother Ira and mom.
